The Baker University wrestling team may not have placed as well in the Kaufman-Brand Open as in previous tournaments, but the circumstances were quite different this time around.
The Wildcats competed against some of the best NCAA Division I and Division II teams in the nation in the tournament hosted by the University of Nebraska-Omaha Saturday in Omaha, Neb.
“We did fairly well considering the level of competition,” sophomore Travis Shadrach said.
The Wildcats continue to venture across the country as they faced Wayland Baptist College in a dual Thursday in Amarillo, Texas, and then quickly turn around to compete in the Simpson Invitational Saturday in Indianola, Iowa.
Baker will then have a dual against William Penn University Tuesday in Oskaloosa, Iowa.
