Baker Football beats rival Benedictine
On Saturday, Oct. 29, Baker Wildcat football took on their rival, the Benedictine Ravens. The Wildcats took home the win with a final score of 28-23.
With a dominating offense, Baker was able to get 401 total yards in the game while holding Benedictine to 280 total yards. Senior JD Woods led in rushing yards with one touchdown and 29 total carries. Woods will be looking for two more games with 100 or more rushing yards to beat another Baker University record. Touchdowns were also awarded by Senior quarterback, Marco Aguinaga and Junior Darian Lewis. Junior Nate Pauly also got in on the action, being Aguinaga’s number one target, making seven catches for 83 yards.
The Wildcats had a lead at the beginning of the fourth quarter making the score 28-17. A mistake from the Ravens caused an interception to give the ball right back to Baker but a missed field goal made it Benedictine’s ball shortly after, causing the Ravens to get a touchdown to make the final score 28-23.
Baker Football is now 8-1 in the season and will play again on Nov. 6 against Central Methodist in Fayette, Mo. at 1 p.m.
