A 22-year-old Baker University student was taken to the Lawrence Memorial Hospital Saturday morning after a stabbing in Lawrence.
According to police reports filed at the Lawrence Police Department, senior Alfonso Nino suffered stab wounds to his torso during a fight in the parking lot of Burger King, 1301 W. 23rd St.
The stabbings happened just after 2 a.m. Saturday and involved a 27-year-old man.
The man was arrested and released on $30,000 bond, Sgt. Bill Cory said. A trial is set for March 24 in Douglas County District Court.
A knife is thought to have been used in the stabbing, Cory said.

Police reports indicate that $500 worth of damage was done to the victim’s vehicle during the attack, which involved several witnesses.This happened after the windshield of Nino’s 2008 Nissan Altima Coupe was shattered.
Police were able to track down the suspect after he was transported by air to a Kansas City area hospital after suffering a severe wound to his arm, Cory said.
