Oct. 30, Baker’s Student Activities Council held their annual Halloween Carnival giving a free meal to all students and having an obstacle course out in Hartley Plaza.
VP of Marketing, Jonathan Ruiz remembers that this was one of his favorite events that SAC had put on and loved seeing everyone hanging out in the union.
“This is one of the many events that get the most student involvement because of the café closing and giving students a different meal than usual,” Ruiz said.
There were many different options that you could choose to eat at the carnival including pretzels, wings and corn dogs. Along with those there was also a plethora of different desserts you could choose from like ice cream, funnel cakes and cotton candy.
Sophomore, Garrett Shoemaker attended the event and said the best part was “definitely the obstacle course and being able to race against my friends and have an overall good time.”
SAC usually doesn’t have an obstacle course at every event, so bringing it to the Halloween Carnival was a nice surprise to students. The carnival is usually held in Hartley Plaza but due to cold weather, they decided to have all the food in the union, and just have the obstacle course outside.
“It was nice to see all the baker students here especially all the athletes even though they just finished practice and took the time out of their day to show some Baker support with SAC,” Shoemaker said.
Director of Student Life, Gary Lazard Jr. thought it was a “great turnout and would like to thank Café General Manager, Andy Theroff and all his staff for all the help and for allowing us to use the café for this event.”
As the semester is coming to a close, SAC only has a few events left that you don’t want to miss out on. Finals Frenzy is a very popular event that is on Dec. 11 and allows you to take a little break from all the studying and enjoy some fun activities, snacks and many more, making you feel more motivated than ever to ace your finals.
