The front door to the newly opened shop on the corner of Eighth and Grove advertises three businesses under one roof – coffee, antiques and consignment clothing.
Although each section has its own name and purpose, owner Bonnie Plumberg hopes the combination will please both Baker students and community members.
“It’s an opportunity to restore an old building, assist in economic developments and keep downtown Baldwin (City) alive,” Plumberg said. “It’s about offering our citizens something to be proud of.”
The coffee shop portion of the business, The Gathering Grounds, is open Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sundays from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
