While Baker students were at home for a much-needed break, the men’s basketball team continued play when it traveled to Columbia, Mo., to compete in the Columbia Classic.
The Wildcats came home 1-1, snagging a huge win over Harris-Stowe State University and dropping a game to host team Columbia College.
The Wildcats matched up against Columbia Nov. 29, but they were unable to make any comebacks, losing 74-46.
“We fell behind in the middle of the first half as Columbia broke away from an 11-11 tie,” head coach Rick Weaver said.
Junior Brock Entner sat out due to a knee injury occurring in the game against Harris-Stowe Nov. 28.
Only a day before, the Wildcats pummeled Harris-Stowe 91-67. Five Wildcats were in double figures, with Entner dropping 20. Senior Nick Iversen added 18 and recorded six assists.
“Everybody can score and everybody did that night,” senior Justin Houser said. “Our guards played exceptional defense throwing them off by switching on the ball screens.”
