MNU came out strong Wednesday night with an early 14-0 run, including three shots from beyond the arc, proving their status as a potential threat looking ahead into the postseason.
MNU Guards Grace Carlson and Mary Lukert dominated behind the three-point line, contributing a combined total of eight threes. Center Kameron Green led the Pioneers with eighteen points, three rebounds and three assists to add on.
Baker trailed by 13 at halftime, but rebounding proved costly for the Wildcats, who were outrebounded 41-27 by the Pioneers.
Sophomore guard Skye Pepp earned her first start in six games and made an impact, scoring 18 points. It marked her seventh game this season with 18 or more points.
Junior Forward Kennedy Bryan was a factor both offensively and defensively as all nine of her points came from behind the arc, and she was able to collect seven defensive rebounds for the Wildcats.
The Lady Wildcats will begin a three-game road trip Saturday, Jan. 31, with a matchup against Grand View in Des Moines.
