The Zeta Chi (ZX) Krispy Kreme fundraiser has returned for another year, bringing the smell of fresh donuts throughout the dorms and campus community. This marks the fraternity’s second year hosting the Krispy Kreme donut fundraiser. According to Zeta Chi External Chair Jacob McGlasson, “since last year was the first time doing this fundraiser… the big turnout made us want to do it again this year”. Because of this strong participation during its first year, the fraternity decided to continue the event.
The fundraiser helps support the Zeta Chi house as well as various ZX events throughout the year. McGlasson explained that members of the house value the opportunity the event provides to interact with others, noting that “ZX enjoys this fundraiser because it gives us the chance to connect within the community”.
This connection extends beyond the Baker University campus to the Baldwin City community. McGlasson further emphasized that “Zeta Chi values our community and wants them to know we value the connection”.
Students may have noticed Zeta Chi members promoting the fundraiser around campus during the past week. Members have been sitting outside the cafeteria and reaching out personally to many students to encourage participation. These efforts demonstrate the fraternity’s commitment to engaging with campus life and building relationships around the Baker community.
In addition to supporting the fraternity, the fundraiser offers a timely benefit for students. As McGlasson noted, “the plus side is getting donuts in time for midterms.” For students who missed this year’s Krispy Kreme fundraiser, there will likely be another opportunity next year as Zeta Chi continues the tradition.
