To help give students time away from looking over books and notes, Student Activities Council is sponsoring its annual study breaks during the week of finals.
“Study breaks are an hour break during the week of finals where students can take a food break every night,” SAC President Brandi Reese said.
SAC has tried some new things this year to pry students out from behind their desks while cramming for finals week.
The study breaks will be held in the cafeteria in Harter Union and the scheduled dates of the breaks will be Friday through Thursday.
SAC will provide students with a different food choice each night. The student development office also will provide food one night.
“Wheat State Pizza is always the most popular study break of all the nights,” Director of Student Activities Cassie Gilmore said. “Last year we had people lining up outside the door for it.”
Gilmore said she is glad SAC is bringing back some of the favorite food choices of the students from previous years like Wheat State Pizza, but she’s also excited the group is trying out some new ideas too.
“I am looking forward to the ball park night,” she said. “I like that they got creative with the themes, and ball park food is pretty much a staple part of going to any ball game.”
Besides just being a food break away from studying, the breaks offer board games and a way to socialize with friends.
Being able to spend time with friends is something junior Di-Tu Dissassa enjoys the most.
“I like the study breaks a lot,” she said. “They are a way to take a break to play, eat and be with friends.”
