The 24-14 loss to Ottawa University to begin last season did not sit well with the Baker University football team, and it showed in BU’s 41-16 victory Saturday at Liston Stadium.
The special-teams unit kick-started the No. 23 Wildcats by scoring all of the team’s first half points on a kickoff return, punt return and a field goal to give BU a 17-16 halftime lead.
The offense and defense took it from there by shutting the No. 10 Braves out 24-0 in the second half.
Baker will be back in action against Peru State College at 6 p.m. Saturday at Liston Stadium. The matchup will be the conference opener for both schools, and the first game for Peru State as a member of the HAAC.
