The Baker men’s soccer team improved to 3-0 in conference play after beating Missouri Valley College 1-0 Saturday at Liston Stadium.
It did not take Baker long to score the only goal of the game. The goal came in the fourth minute by junior Kome Okiomah with an assist by junior Luke Haidarovic.
“I thought we played pretty well,” sophomore Matt Griffin said. “Obviously there’s always room for improvement.”
Senior Jon Baldwin said getting an early goal always boosts the confidence of a team.
Baker is currently at the top of the Heart of America Athletic Conference. Both Benedictine College and Graceland University are half a game back with a conference record of 2-0-1.
The Wildcats have won four straight games, with three of those wins being against conference opponents Culver-Stockton College, MidAmerica Nazarene University and Missouri Valley.
