While some Baker University students kick up their feet and relax this summer, many will be continuing their education for a couple of months as they enroll in a number of summer school courses.
Director of Records Ruth Miller said she still expects many more students to enroll.
“There are currently 97 people enrolled in session I, and 60 people in session II,” Miller said. “This is an open enrollment process, so I expect the numbers to keep going up.”
Miller said the variety of courses is about the same.
“The course offerings vary from summer to summer, depending on the student demand and instructor availability to teach courses.”
A popular summer course is LA401, the required critical thinking class for seniors, Miller said.
Sophomore Zach Atzeni said he is taking one course this summer and plans to take LA 401 next summer in order to take care of future required Baker classes.
“Taking courses during the summer is very convenient and is a lot less stressful on me for the school year.”
