The time has come to rock out with your voter registration cards out.
Starting at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Kansas City Power & Light District, bands including The Wombats, Carolina Liar and Ludo will team up with local politicians to get the Kansas City area pumped up about the political process.
Event Manager for KC Live! Shawn Sample said the free show is a chance for anyone of voting age to register to vote and listen to speeches from politicians.
“Rock The Vote concerts give local and regional politicians the opportunity to voice their platform to their younger constituents,” Sample said.
Sample said it also gives young people the chance to enjoy being politically active.
“As with any election, it is important for young people to get involved,” Sample said. “Whether it’s volunteering for a candidate or just staying knowledgeable about politics in general, our political system is based on individuals getting and staying involved in the process.”
