The Baker football team is ranked No. 24 in the nation in the coach’s preseason polls. This is the second straight year the team has ranked in the top 25.

The Wildcats managed to stay in the top 25 despite losing nearly a dozen seniors, including offensive leaders Mack Brown and Richie Bryant.

Head coach Mike Grossner said the ranking was an honor to the program and to the younger athletes on the team.

“It just gives us a lot of respect for how our defense played and the guys coming back on that side of the ball, and then hopefully we have some guys that will step up on offense,” Grossner said.

The Wildcats will open the 2010-2011 season facing No. 8 ranked Ottawa University.
