Some people get all the glory.
Some people don’t get any at all.
There are some people on the Baker University’s campus that are no different.
Some people on campus are noticed, appreciated and thanked on an everyday basis, but others are not.
Some people on campus go unnoticed, are underappreciated and hardly ever thanked.
Those people include the Baker University maintenance staff, the security guards, the groundskeepers and those who do the little everyday things that help the university to run smoothly.
These people go unnoticed by those around them.
They are the ones who keep the campus clean and working.
They are the ones who keep the campus safe.
They are the ones who keep the campus looking sharp.
They are the ones who do everything they can do make sure faculty, staff and students have a place to work and learn efficiently.
They fix desks throughout campus. They unlock doors in the library during the wee hours of the morning for the student who forgot about a project. They mow the campus every Wednesday so we have a gorgeous campus to walk through.
These people are the ones that often do thankless work, who are underappreciated each and every day by the students, faculty and other staff members at Baker.
Without the help of these unnoticed, underappreciated, hard workers, Baker just wouldn’t be Baker.
They might not get all the glory, and they might not get thanked for their hard work every day like some people on this campus are, but it does not mean that we don’t appreciate them.
Faculty, staff and students appreciate your hard work. The Baker community appreciates your hard work.
We just need to show it more often.
