The men’s golf team finished in fourth place at the Evangel Tournament at Silo Ridge Golf Course in Bolivar, Mo.
Baker played 36 holes on Tuesday, along with being delayed for about an hour due to rain, and finished up with another 18 holes Wednesday. McKendree College won the tournament while Evangel University and Missouri Valley College tied for second.
“We have a pretty young squad this year,” head coach Karen Exon said. “It’s good for our young guys to experience that kind of tournament grind.”
Freshman Andy Sherman stepped up for the 'Cats by placing fourth individually, shooting rounds of 73, 80 and 75. Exon said a dark horse at the tournament was sophomore Michael Wissmann, who was a late addition to the junior varsity squad after another golfer was not able to travel. Wissmann shot the fourth best score out of 10 players. <br/>&#160;
