The Baker women’s bowling program, one of the two added sports to Baker this year, is off and running after the team played in its first tournament of its season.
The Wildcats placed 11th out of 12 teams at the Midstates Championship in Wichita. The other 11 teams Baker faced are considered club teams, as is the case with most of the Wildcats’ competition during the season.
“The experience that the girls were able to get from that first tournament, I thought was great,” head coach Kristal Wilson said.
Freshman Caitlin Campbell led the way for the ‘Cats, finishing in 15th place individually out of 70 bowlers.
“She has a lot of talent,” Wilson said. “She’s definitely going to excel and I look for her to do well this year.”
Sophomore Samantha Lehr also bowled well, finishing in 26th place.
Next up for Baker is the Greater Ozark NCAA Invitational on October 23-25.<br/>&#160;
