The Baker women’s tennis team has been competing against more than just its scheduled competition for the beginning of the season.
The weather canceled Saturday’s scrimmage and forced Monday’s practice and Wednesday’s match against Evangel to be moved indoors to the Jayhawk Tennis facility in Lawrence, formerly known as First Serve.
Evangel defeated Baker 6-3, winning 2-1 in doubles and 4-2 in singles matches.
“(Freshmen) Tresa Carter is in the midst of a heated match at No. 2 singles,” sophomore Danae Presler said during the match Wednesday.
The players who competed in Baker’s doubles victory were Carter and sophomore Laura Caby, who won 8-5.
The women's next match is a home match Saturday against St. Mary's of St. Louis.<br/>&#160;
