Greek organizations have started planning events to support their individual philanthropies.

Tracie Babbitt, philanthropy chair for Delta Delta Delta sorority, said her chapter is hosting a car wash to raise money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

“We’ve done it several years and it usually makes quite a bit of money,” she said. “It’s something easy and fun, and it makes us money.”

The car wash will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at Kansas State Bank.

The Phi Mu sorority held an event for its philanthropy, Children’s Miracle Network, Wednesday.

The event, the Blizzard Bash, was co-hosted by the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity from the University of Kansas from 8 p.m. to midnight at Phi Mu. Over $500 was raised at the event.
