Despite chilly temperatures and all-day rain, the women’s golf team finished first at Ottawa University tournament at Eagle Bend golf course October 7-8.
Junior Dani Weimholt said the rain played a major factor in the athletes’ ability to perform.
“It is not easy to play in cold rain and by the end of the tournament every single person out there was pretty much ignoring the fact that they were walking through puddles,” Weimholt said.
With one more tournament left in the fall season, Weimholt said the key for the team will be to maintain focus.
“We all have the capability to play very well as long as we don’t let our heads get in the way,” she said.
The women's team will compete in its last tournament of the season Sunday through Tuesday in Marshal, Mo., at the Indian Foothills Golf Course. <br/>&#160;
