Over the past few weeks, the Baker University community and the campus greek community have been very supportive of the women of the Zeta Alpha chapter of Phi Mu sorority.
As a member of this chapter, I’m very appreciative of the support as we went through the appeal process to save our chapter.
The greek community has become more than just a community, it has become a family.
The Zeta Alpha chapter of Phi Mu is not just a sorority, but a home away from home for 14 women that have a strong bond that can never be broken, regardless of the Phi Mu National Council’s decision.
The chapter has been making a difference on Baker’s campus for more than 95 years. And I for one am very blessed to be a part of Zeta Alpha.
The chapter has made a huge difference in my college experience that I am forever grateful for.
Even though I am just a freshman, being apart of the chapter, even if it happens to be for just one year, has changed my life forever because of my sisters in the chapter and our bond.
If the National Council decides to grant us the appeal, we will be honored to be a part of the greek community and family for years to come.
If the council decides to suspend operations, though sad and heavy hearted, we will walk out of the Phi Mu house May 22 with our heads held high.
We will know that the council can take away our charter and home, but the council can not take away the fact we are and will always be Zeta Alphas and will always be practicing love, honor and truth day by day.
Thank you for all of the support.
