A special chapel service will allow friends, family and members of the Baker University community to join together in celebration of the life of Machele Timberlake, assistant professor of education and coordinator of student teachers.
Timberlake died unexpectedly Dec. 10 after joining the BU faculty in 1999.
The service will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday at the First United Methodist Church in Baldwin City. The Clarice L. Osborne Memorial Chapel usually hosts chapel services, but was feared to be too small for Timberlake’s memorial.
The Speech Choir, several musical numbers and the minister from Timberlake’s own church will be a part of the celebration.
"It will be a time to come together and to recognize that we've lost a member of our community," Merrie Skaggs, associate professor of education, said. "We thought this (time) would be more accessible to the community."<br/>&#160;
