Faculty members voiced concerns about the pending process of reduction and reallocation during Pat Long’s address to the Baker University Faculty Senate Tuesday. Long spoke for the administration when she said it “has done everything possible, but this is where we are.”
Although the faculty had protection through the 30 staff cuts and other attempts to reduce the $400,000 deficit, Faculty Senate president Tracy Floreani said the administration is being forced to take greater measures.
"The administration is looking at the viability of programs instead of the easy answer of faculty reduction," Floreani said. Motions for amendments to the student handbook, the endorsement of the School of Education Diversity Plan and the approval of a special topics course were all passed unopposed, while other substantive motions are to be voted on in December.<br/>&#160;
