Despite these bleak economic times, members of the BU community saw the completion of the new and improved fitness center last week.
Cassy Bailey, dean of students, said the project involved the cooperation from Baker University Student Senate, the University Retention Committee and the University Diversity Committee. An anonymous donor made the largest donation toward this effort.
The new equipment includes four treadmills, three elliptical machines, a recumbent bike and an upright bike.
Bailey said there was a good turnout for the grand opening of the center on Jan. 27. The feedback the university has received so far has been really positive, she said.
“I am thrilled for the students,” Bailey said. “They also improved the floor and repainted the walls. The whole place has been jazzed up.”
