Two Baker University theater students are being recognized for their performance in the play “Dracula.”
Junior Aaron Schopper and freshman Patrick King are nominated for the Irene Ryan Scholarship. Both of the students were chosen by a critic that attended the production and the director of show. The critic and the director both felt the students stood out, in terms of performance, above the rest.
“After I found out about the nomination, a part of me was regretful because everyone in the production did such a phenomenal job,” Schopper said. “There is always that question as to if I was the most deserving. I am so honored.”
Both students will attend the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival for Region 5 in January in Iowa City, Iowa. During the weeklong festival, students will compete against other actors and actresses for the scholarship.
At the end of the festival, two people from each of the eight regions will be chosen for the scholarship.
