Members of the BU and Baldwin City communities will have the chance to show freshman Allyson Sass support at an all-you-can-eat pancakes benefit supper provided by Chris Cakes.
Sass was diagnosed with Neurofibromatosis Type II in 2007 and plans to undergo placenta stem cell treatment.
“When they realized that they wanted to go get this procedure done … there was no insurance that covers it,” administrative assistant Cheryl McCrary said.
McCrary decided to take the lead on the event along with Sass’ aunt.
“I’m looking forward to seeing Baker students and community members come together to show support for Allyson,” she said. “I just think it’s going to be amazing, the feeling of love that she’s going to get when she sees all the people there to help her.”
The event will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Baldwin City Fire Station, 609 High St. Attendees are asked to make a minimum donation of $5.<br/>&#160;
