Phi Mu sorority dished out boxes upon boxes of pizza for a good cause.
Every year Phi Mu raises money for its philanthropy organization, Children’s Miracle Network. On Wednesday, the sorority hosted its second annual Pizza Palooza as the fundraiser.
People could buy tickets to the event for either $5 in advance or $6 at the door. In addition to eating pizza from 8 p.m. to midnight, those present could enter raffles, one of which was Pie a Phi. The winners had the opportunity to throw a pie at several Phi Mu members. Former member of Phi Mu Martha Harris, professor of business and economics, was also auctioned off to get hit with a pie.
Last year, through Pizza Palooza, Phi Mu raised $500. This year they raised almost $625.
“(The night) went above and beyond what I thought we would do,” sophomore Laura Snider, president of Phi Mu, said. “It was almost $200 more than last year. So I’m excited.”
