The Erin Bode Group will perform a free folk and jazz concert at 7:30 p.m. Monday in McKibbin Recital Hall. <br/>&#160;
The group has performed in Washington, D.C., Philadelphia and New York.
J.D. Parr, director of the Baker Jazz Ensemble, saw the group perform in the Kansas City area in December and asked the members to come to Baker if they were ever in the area again.
“In early January I got a note from their agent and she offered us a fantastic deal to have them perform and clinic here,” Parr said.
The group, featuring Erin Bode, Adam Maness, Sydney Rodway and Derrek Phillips, has released four major CD’s and opened for Jamie Cullum, Michael Buble and Chris Botti. The group is on tour and will conduct song-writing and jazz clinics for students at Baker.
“The opportunity for our music students to work with them in a ‘clinic’ environment is invaluable education,” Parr said.
