As the Baker volleyball team’s dream season came to an end, the Wildcats received many accolades for 2009. The `Cats produced the program’s best season to date, with a 32-4 overall record. BU also finished 9-1 in conference, with the lone loss to first-place Lindenwood University.
Junior Brooke Pryor had a standout year, and for her efforts was named the HAAC Player of the Year. She led the Wildcats in total kills (535) and kills per game (4.2). She also came in third on the list for total digs (325).
Sophomore Brooke Allen was the team’s star on the defensive end. Allen was named the HAAC Libero of the Year as she led the Wildcats with 876 total digs and totaled 6.8 per game.
The Wildcats lose four players from the 2009 squad in senior Nikki Anderson, to graduation, and sophomores Kelsey Allen, Lauren Torrez and Liz Schraad to Baker University’s School of Nursing program in Topeka.
