The Baker women’s golf team finished fifth out of 12 teams in the Park Invitational Monday and Tuesday.
Tuesday’s windy conditions caused some of the players trouble, but Baker scored significantly better than the rest of the field.
The women were in eighth place after the first day. Tuesday they scored 27 strokes better in the windier conditions than in the better conditions Monday.
“We have dug ourselves in big holes these past two tournaments stroke wise,” head coach Karen Exon said. “Then, we have come back the second day and played significantly better, but it is just not enough to raise ourselves.”Exon said in the upcoming weeks before the next tournament, the team will be practicing more and focusing on its short game in order to improve first-day tournament scores.
