Junior basketball player Emily Gibson was named an NAIA honorable mention All-American after her first season with the Wildcats.
Gibson averaged 14.8 points and 10.1 rebounds this season. Within the HAAC, Gibson placed first in rebounds and in double-doubles, recording 17 double-doubles throughout the season. Her strong work on the inside helped lead the team to the HAAC playoffs.
“It was obviously a great accomplishment, but it was even better that the team did so well and that was reflected by the award,” Gibson said. “It really meant a lot.”
With all five starters returning, Gibson said she has high hopes for the 2010-2011 team.
“Our goal is definitely to win conference and to hopefully make it to the national tournament,” she said.
