Members of Mungano elected new officers for the 2010-2011 school year April 15.

The newly elected officers are sophomore John Babb, president, junior Katie Mercer, vice president, freshman Lauren Breithaupt, secretary, freshman Kelley Jenkins, historian, sophomore Shavon Brown, treasurer, and sophomores Cherese Littlejohn and Danielle Small and junior Reina Murphy as public relations.

Babb said he is excited to get started with his new position as president.

“It’s a great leadership opportunity,” he said.

Babb said Mungano’s main goal is to promote diversity on campus through different programs, including dedicating each month to a specific culture or gender.

“We want to make Mungano a bigger and more well-known organization in the Baker community,” Babb said.

The new officers will be inducted at Mungano's 30th annual Candlelight Vigil at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Clarice L. Osborne Memorial Chapel.<br/>
