This Thanksgiving, Hallmark and Feeding America are partnering up to help feed the hungry.
Hallmark has announced it will donate 1 percent of its Thanksgiving cards to Feeding America – including cards purchased in the bookstore.
According to secondharvest.org, Feeding America is the country’s largest domestic hunger relief organization. Each year, the organization helps distribute two billion pounds of food and grocery products.
“This is a great and easy way to help feed America’s hungry,” Joyce Mitchell, bookstore assistant, said. “We have a good selection of Thanksgiving Day cards in stock.”
The cards are available now through Thanksgiving and range in price from 99 cents to $2.69, depending on the style.
The bookstore also offers packages of six cards for $3.99 and $4.99.
Mitchell said purchasing a card is one of the easiest ways students can get involved with the effort.
“Hallmark has provided us with such an easy way to help others,” Mitchell said. “Buy a card, and you’ve automatically donated to Feeding America.”
The Thanksgiving cards are located on a display shelf in the front of the card area.
This should help students easily locate the cards and hopefully draw more sales.
“It can’t get any easier than that,” Mitchell said.
