The second floor of the Living and Learning Center will be boarded up Saturday—with games that is.
The Baker University Gaming Society held an informational meeting March 10 and plans on having its inaugural gaming event from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday in the Living and Learning Center.
BUGS President Drew Linenberger is excited about bringing a new kind of group to Baker’s campus.
“We really just want to see a lot of different people coming out and having a good time,” he said.
The informational meeting drew 15 to 20 students in attendance with many others contacting the society leaders to show interest.
The group will offer students the chance to play well-known games like Clue and Risk while also incorporating games many people are not as familiar with.
The society encourages students to attend and bring their own games to play as well.
“It’s open to anyone if they have a game they want to play,” Linenberger said.
The society has five governing officers plus two faculty sponsors, Academic Support Coordinator Eric Hays and Assistant Professor of History John Richards.
The group is using e-mails and hoping to have a Facebook group created in an attempt to inform students and gain members.
"I think we'll get a decent turnout," Linenberger said.<br/>&#160;
