Dear editorial staff,
I was quite surprised to see that the Dec.1 edition of the Baker Orange had no coverage of W.I.R.E.’s landmine victims awareness campaign the week of Nov. 27.
While the weather in the latter half of the week did affect some activities associated with the campaign, the snow also seems to have blinded the student newspaper to the innovation this student group brought to raising their peers’ awareness of this serious international problem.
Obviously, media coverage would have helped to promote awareness even further.
I commend the students of W.I.R.E. for their efforts and hope they will continue to raise awareness of global problems on this campus.
