After a week’s rest, the Baker University volleyball team rebounded from its first conference loss by coming out on top against a tough Evangel University team.
In three games, the ‘Cats proved their toughness toward the end of each contest by pulling through in close scoring situations. Baker prevailed in game one, 27-25, game two, 28-26, and finished strong in game three, 25-21.
“We did a really good job of keeping our composure and staying calm while still playing aggressively and letting them make mistakes,” senior Nikki Anderson said.
Junior Christina Delladio led the Wildcats with 13 kills on the evening, and junior Brooke Pryor was just behind with 12. Anderson’s six-block effort kept the Evangel attacking effort off-balance and sophomore Brooke Allen was once-again a dominant force in the back row as she led the team with 24 digs.
“I think it was a really big win after our loss last week,” Anderson said. “We all felt like we were back in our groove and playing how we played before.”
The Wildcats will take on Missouri Valley College at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Marshall, Mo. Missouri Valley enters the game 2-5 in conference.<br/>&#160;
