Just like a certain song, everyone seems to have that one particular food that reminds them of their childhood. For me, it is simple – hamburger cookies.
Like the well-known saying, “Don’t judge a book by its cover,” do not jump to conclusions with this specific dessert. With easy-to-make instructions, ingredients that should be in the cabinets of your own home and an end result that will have people wanting seconds, this is the perfect dish to make for any occasion.
What makes these cookies stand out in both presentation and satisfaction is the fact that they are so simple, yet so unique. The best thing about having this recipe on hand is the fact that it can be used for basically any occasion, any time, anywhere.
With the bun being made out of vanilla wafers, the patty out of a Thin Mint Girl Scout cookie, frosting with green, red, yellow and orange food coloring for lettuce, ketchup, mustard and cheese, finishing with the final touch of sesame seeds on the bun – you are bound and determined to get a couple reactions out of the people you serve these spectacular treats to.
Even though it may not take a genius to figure out there are thousands of other recipes that may taste and look better, but really, there is no better name or better form for a dessert than “hamburger cookies.”
