Baker junior Christine Janssens has been selected as the HAAC representative for the NAIA’s A.O. Duer Award.
The award is given to one male and one female student-athlete who has excelled on the field, in the classroom and has excellent character. Janssens was nominated secretly and was unaware that the award even existed until her coach told her she was the representative.
“About a month ago, my coaches texted me to get an official transcript to send somewhere, but I had no idea what it was about,” Janssens said.
Janssens is an attacking center midfielder for the Baker soccer team and currently carries a 4.0 GPA. She beat out 10 nominees from other schools to become the HAAC representative and will be up against a representative from every conference in the NAIA.<br/>&#160;
