An initiative has begun to fund a Habitat for Humanity house in honor of Baker @150.
Student Development Coordinator Myra Glover said the fundraising will take place on all of Baker’s campuses in hopes that students find a way to contribute, whether it be through volunteering or pledging money.
The goal for the fundraising is $40,000, and Glover said grant opportunities are also being researched.
“We want the focus to be a current student project in honor of Baker’s 150th,” Glover said.
Within the next couple of weeks, organizations and departments will be contacted to find ways to donate. Junior Kelly Vaughan said several fundraising events are in the works.
“We are trying to get communities involved on campus. People can do fundraisers; whatever is more productive for them,” she said.
