Sophomore J.L. Anderson was named the HAAC Player of the Week last weekend after placing first in the 200-meter dash, with a time of 23.26 seconds, at the Pitt State Invitational.
Along with Anderson, junior Carrie Lister qualified for the national championships in the shot-put and is ranked No. 19 in the nation.
“It was kind of a tune-up meet for us to just go down there and get ready for conference this Friday,” head track coach Zach Kindler said.
Kindler said he is expecting that the men will place in the top three in conference at the HAAC Indoor Championships Friday and Saturday.
“I am not sure where we will end up on the ladies side though, we have some work to do and are in a rebuilding phase,” Kindler said. “We could end up as high at third or as low as seventh, but we should have a number of ladies pushing for first place in their events.”
