A variety of items disappeared from the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity house Sept. 17.
Sigma Phi Epsilon President Chad O’Bryhim said his book bag and all its contents including his car keys, notebooks and a flash drive, as well as a Nintendo 64, 15 Nintendo 64 games and a 12-pack of beer were allegedly stolen.
“At first, we thought the front door was left unlocked,” O’Bryhim said.
However, O’Bryhim said the door was left unlocked for less than an hour between 11 p.m. and midnight, providing a small window of time when someone could have come into the house unnoticed.
O’Bryhim said there were no signs of a break-in, but he believes someone may have pried open a window.
“We’ve filed some police reports,” he said.
O’Bryhim said nothing greek such as composites or trophies were taken and nothing has been returned. He said the difficult thing is because his book bag was stolen he’s lost all his notes up until this point in the semester as well as files and documents that only exist on his flash drive.
“It’s just frustrating,” he said. “I have to make up for a lot of stuff.”
