There’s definitely a lot of entertaining things that happen. Overall, just kind of the spontaneous things that we tend to do. Sometimes we’ll just all end up watching movies in the lobby or, the last couple of weekends, (senior) Mariah (Barnett) and I just started playing video games in the lobby and all of a sudden, you know, you have four or five residents join you. So, it’s really just kind of a big family. So, that’s a lot of fun.

It’s almost Halloween and that means you’ll be getting ready for the Irwin haunted house soon. I hate scary movies, but I do enjoy going to haunted houses. I’ve been to “The Edge of Hell” and stuff before, but I wouldn’t go unless it’s with a big group, because I’d be too chicken otherwise.

I will probably be helping with the first part of the haunted house. More like, making sure people are coming into the right area, that they know where all the snacks are and stuff. I guess I’ll be helping play hostess. We’re hoping to have like one or two games going on in the game room area and then making sure only a few people at a time are going through the haunted house. That way we don’t have like, you know, 20 people going through the one hallway at once.

I don’t know how strong my beliefs in ghosts are, but there’s been enough creepy things throughout all of Baker to make me believe that there’s got to be something going on. I don’t know if the basement has any ghosts, but Parmenter (Hall is) definitely haunted.

My freshman year, I worked in the basement of Parmenter for admissions for a little while, and one night, I was with one other girl, we were all alone in the building. It was a Sunday night and we hear some phones going off, which was weird, but wasn’t the oddest thing that ever happened. A few minutes later, a security guard comes in and he said, ‘who dialed 911?’ We were like, we don’t know who did this. And, so, he looks around and it comes from an empty office that no one had been in but someone had dialed 911. We were so freaked out. Then of course, that building makes so many noises. We heard, like, footsteps above us when no one else should’ve been there and different things like that.
