While the Baker University football team just missed out on qualifying for the playoffs with its 7-3 record, its performance this season did not go unnoticed within the Heart of America Athletic Conference.
Twenty-two Wildcats were named as all-HAAC performers, including sophomore Jake Morse, who was selected as the Co-Offensive Player of the Year with MidAmerica Nazarene University quarterback Sean Ransburg.
“I thought we were well represented,” head coach Mike Grossner said. “We were a young football team, so when you go into those all-conference selections, seniority takes priority sometimes. I felt like the guys that were honored were well-deserving.”
Out of the 22 Wildcats, five players were selected to the all-HAAC first team.
The ’Cats on the first team included Morse, senior John Babb, juniors Aaron Rieschick and Reggie Harris and freshman Andrew Kimrey.
Grossner is pleased with the number of his players that were honored, but he is also excited that 17 of the 22 all-HAAC performers will be returning next season.
