As the new year is starting, I come to think about everything I have done and learned in the last year.
I like to think back on the year in general without any regret and reminisce about the life I have lived to my fullest for the past 365 days. Let’s just say this year was an adventure.
I learned the valued lesson that relationships don’t always work out. Yes, everyone has had a heartbreak I bet, but you learn life goes on. It is nothing to regret or to keep reliving. Just value the time you once had and let it be a memory you will never forget.
I learned that each day is something new. I know everyone goes through different struggles. This could be anything from taking the wrong book to class or something bigger like losing a loved one, but each day brings something a person will always remember.
I remember spending four hours at Sunfire Ceramics in Lawrence painting and having a good time with my best friends.
I also remember all those bad days I had where all I could think of was how bad the day was and how I wanted to curl up in a ball and scream. I made it through, and can look back at those days and laugh knowing I did something to make it through.
I have learned you can push yourself and work your butt off to accomplish something great, but it might not always work out in your favor. It makes you mad and you feel like you wasted your time, but in the end, you just have to move on, take it for what it is and accept you can’t win every battle.
I learned my friends and family will always be here in any way possible. I know this is a cliché thing, but it is the truth.
Friends and family are the two solid relationships which will always lend a hand and will always be there to have a good, fun time with and be there for you.
There is a new year upon me, with a new adventure. I have concluded that I won’t always make the right decision and I won’t always get what I want, but in the end, life will go on and I will be just fine.
