Despite being ranked second in the county, the Baker University football team has faced some adversity due to the injuries of at least two key players. All-American sophomore wide receiver and kicker Clarence Clark and sophomore quarterback Nick Marra have been watching recent games from the sideline.
Judging by the way he looks, you wouldn’t expect Baker University head football coach Mike Grossner to be in the final stages of radiation and chemotherapy treatment for stage-four cancer. But despite the sickness, Grossner has taken his team to a perfect 6-0 record and to the highest ranking in his 11 years of coaching.
The No. 2 Baker University football team pulled off a 27-21 win over the Benedictine College Ravens at Arrowhead Stadium in the NAIA Gridiron Challenge.

The No. 2 Baker University football team will take on the No. 19 Benedictine Ravens in the first NAIA Gridiron Challenge at 7 p.m. Saturday at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri. The Wildcats have won seven of their last eight games against the Ravens.

The Baker University defense received praise for its effort in a 24-14 Heart of America Athletic Conference victory over the Evangel University Crusaders on Saturday, Sept. 20.
The Baker University football team started off its season with a victory over No. 14 Ottawa University Braves, winning 20-12 in what may be the final County Line Clash.
The Baker University football team will begin its season ranked No. 5, something head coach Mike Grossner sees as a sign of the progress his team has made the last few seasons. The Wildcats take on the No. 14 ranked Ottawa University Braves at 6 p.m. on Saturday in Ottawa.
