After opening the Tabor College Post Holiday Classic with a 15-point victory over Sterling College on Friday, the Baker University women’s basketball team fell to host school Tabor College, 79-76, Saturday.

A 26-point effort from senior guard BriAnna Garza led the Wildcats to a 80-65 victory over Sterling, giving the Wildcats their ninth win of the season. BU capitalized at the free-throw line, sinking 14-16. The Wildcats also shot 42 percent from the field and made eight 3-pointers.

BU was unable to carry that momentum into Saturday’s matchup, though, and trailed Tabor by 11 points at halftime. BU attempted a comeback in the second half, outscoring the Bluejays 49-41. However, the halftime deficit proved to be too much as the Wildcats fell 79-76.
