The Baker University women’s basketball team improved to 4-1 in conference play after outscoring Culver-Stockton College 41-22 in the second half on Saturday in Collins Center.

Ten points were all that separated BU and C-SC at halftime, but the second-half-run led BU to a 76-47 victory. Sophomore Jami Hodge led all scores with 13 points, while juniors Kyrstie Ehm and Rashida Simpson followed with 12 and 10 points, respectively. Although three Wildcats scored in double figures, BU also received 38 points from players off the bench.

BU outrebounded Culver-Stockton 53-34 and did not allow a C-SC player to reach double digits. With the loss, Culver-Stockton fell to 0-5 in the Heart of America Athletic Conference and 3-10 on the season. The Wildcats pushed their overall record to 11-5 and have won their last four conference games.

Baker will be back in action at 5:30 p.m. Thursday in Kansas City, Mo. against Avila University. The Eagles are 2-3 in conference play, but are ranked seventh in the NAIA in 3-point field goals made per game.
