With the season of spring, many reasons for celebration come. The majority partake in the Easter traditions of coming together and most religions have their special traditions to worship amongst themselves. I have always found Easter to be very joyful with the pastel colors of candy and easter egg hunts in my grandma’s backyard. However, what I don’t appreciate, or should I say who I don’t appreciate is the Easter Bunny. Yeah, I believed in him as a little kid but I caught on pretty early that he wasn’t a real thing; just like Santa, only creepier.
My parents would take my brother and I to the mall as kids to get our picture with the infamous bunny. Now, I am just disappointed they let me close to that demonic looking suit masking a middle aged man. Whenever I see one, my soul leaves my body and the despise returns.
No hate to the person just wanting to be paid, but does something that looked like it just walked out of Five Nights at Freddy’s really peak kids’ interest? I’m sure they are just wondering where the jelly beans and chocolate eggs are. For me, however, I am wondering when they can upgrade the fake easter bunny costume into a real white bunny. It’s much cuter in my opinion, and it’s realistic!
Collectively, when really taking a good look, we can all agree the Easter Bunny sends shivers down our spines. I know it’s been a staple of the Easter tradition, but do we really care for a bunny costume when we have the real thing? What about instead of taking our kids to a random person in a plastic fur costume there was a real bunny petting zoo instead? This could still get the same message across in that cute bunny is a perfect representation of spring and new life!
